KJKZO Dog Bark Collar for Large Medium Small Dogs, Rechargeable No-Bark Collar,... 4.8 785 Dear Neighbor, I hope this note finds you well. I'm writing to address a concern that has been impacting the peace of our neighborhood, specifically regarding the frequent and prolonged barking of your dog. As you know, our homes are quite close together, and the ongoing barking has become disruptive to the quiet enjoyment of our property. The noise regularly affects our ability to rest, work, and enjoy ou

Moved into a new home less than two weeks ago and we got this shoved into our mail slot today. We do our best to bring her inside when she starts barking but sounds like that's not enough. Anything work that you all have tried?

airhunger_rn That's actually a decently respectful way to start this conversation. Sounds like you have some decent neighbors who are looking to maintain their quality of life and communicate respectfully.

Myka_Rok My favorite part is that every photo you shared of him, he is barking

cheddarbunnies69 Thank you all for the advice and words! I don't leave her outside unattended and work from home so she is rarely alone for more than two hours. I do wish to keep the peace especially since we are

new to the neighborhood. I have reached out to several trainers and have a phone call with one tomorrow morning. Hopefully we can work on her barkies and exist peacefully with the neighbors.

Fast_Incident_362 These pics are killing me. I let my dog bark at appropriate times. But when I let him out early in the morning, I respect that's disturbing to some neighbors. I got a "shock collar"
  • 11
that does have a shock feature but I've never EVER used it and I never will. But it also vibrates. I tried it first because I'm not going to harm my dog. It just feels like a phone vibrating. But
  • 12
my dog does not like it. I've used it maybe twice. But he knows what it is and I put the collar on, usually not even turned on, now when I let him out early and he knows not to bark.

Tiny_Wasabi2476 I wish all owners and GPs of these posts could come live on my farm. Y'all would be so happy here with me and my 7 dogs. Sure, my dogs also bark when they need to but there's no-one around to be bothered by it. How good would that be?

TransientBandit All of these people saying that off it's okay to tell them to f are children. The reality is that barking can and does drive a lot of people crazy. Pyrs bark a lot (obviously you know that), and it's super loud. If I were the type
  • 15
that didn't have a dog because I can't stand the barking, and someone moved in next door with an extremely loud, extremely vocal dog, it wouldn't feel fair to me to just have to suffer through
  • 16
that being inflicted upon me all day everyday. They sent just about the most mature letter they possibly could have and made extremely fair, well constructed points. You can't expect an entire neighborhood to have their lives
  • 17
disrupted like that because you love your dog. These people are clearly trying to be diplomatic about it and likely didn't identify themselves because of the types of people in this comment section who seem like they would
  • 18
in some way har s them. You will have to figure something out. That dog isn't going to stop barking no matter what training you seek, and your neighbors aren't going to suddenly have a change of heart, so...good luck, honestly.

AceVindictive This is way better than what happened to me. A neighbor that moved in a year ago called the cops on our dog. I eventually got the collar too and it's just a mild annoyance for my big girl, it has reduced the frequency though and she only has to wear it at times where noise is a problem.

trevorwas Well written letter, even included some recommendations. Identifying an appropriate trainer seems like a good start to me.
  • 21
yabukothestray I have nothing to add about the letter, just wanted to say I love that you added photos of your dog barking lol. Really ties it together Imao
  • 22
kitycat22 Just tell the neighbors that your dog is on mountain time still.
  • 23
poppingcandy 5000 I'll bring over my kids- they are learning violin and clarinet this year. It won't stop the barking but it will stop the neighbours thinking about your dog.
  • 24
LoudScientist4880 Meanwhile my upstairs neighbor lets their kid run around making all sorts of noise 24/7 but my city and the cops won't do anything "because it's a kid". If a kid is gonna be a kid, a dog is gonna be a dog.
